OCR (Operational and Curatorial Research), the IAVC (International Association for Visual Culture) and Boston University are proud to announce that The Clark Art Institute’s Research and Academic Programs will offer travel fellowships to three contributors to the International Association for Visual Culture’s biennial conference. The conference THE SOCIAL will be held at Boston University, September 29th-October 1st, 2016.

 

Three travel Fellowships are available to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs to the value of $1500 each.

 

Eligibility: The Fellowships are available on a competitive basis to all emerging scholars and researchers (including doctoral students, postdoctoral students, and emerging career researchers), curators, and practitioners contributing to the conference.

 

Applicants must either be presenting at the conference, contributing to the Graduate Forum event, organizers of the Graduate Forum event, or wishing to attend the conference as delegates.

 

How to apply?

 

Your application submission must comprise of the following:
 
–  a cover letter of no more than two pages, explaining why you are applying for the Fellowship; why it is urgent that you attend the conference; how attendance will benefit your professional development; and what attending the conference will enable you to bring to your research, institution, and/or communities of practice,
–  a financial breakdown of how the funds will be used. (If you are affiliated with an academic institution, it is expected that you will have sought financial assistance from your institution, please supply evidence of this),
–  a curriculum vitae of no more than two pages.

–  Lanfranco Aceti, (Convener, IAVC2016@Boston, and Director of Arts Administration, Boston University)
–  Christopher P. Heuer, (Research and Academic Program, The Clark Art Institute)
–  Marquard Smith, (co-Founder and Director, IAVC, Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam).
 
All applicants will be informed of the decision by May 9, 2016.
