Thomas Bjørnsten (b. 1976), PhD, is postdoc researcher at the Department of Aesthetics and Communication, Aarhus University (Denmark), with a three-year project (2014-17) entitled “Making sense of data – understanding digital reality through contemporary artistic practices of visualization and sonification”. The project is funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research . He has a background in art history, sound studies and aesthetic theory. Among other things he teaches history and theory of modern aesthetics, when not writing about sound, digital art and experimental music for various magazines and journals.
